For the Amazon mini to function properly, JavaScript and cookies must be enabled in a browser. If the browser is not configured to allow both JavaScript and cookies, then the Amazon mini is automatically deactivated during initialization and the web page operates normally without any affect from the Amazon mini servers.

Installation Instructions

In most cases, all that needs to be done to install Amazon mini Browser Sidebar is it click the "Click to Add Browser Sidebar" button anywhere on this site (such as in the upper left corner of this page). Details for installing and removing the Amazon mini Browser Sidebar is as follows:

• Mozilla (Mozilla and Navigator) - to install Amazon mini, click any "Click to Add Browser Sidebar" button and then click the OK button when a message box opens and asks if you want to add the new tab to your sidebar. a) XPI Extension Installer - for FireFox browsers, you can use the Extension Manager to automatically install and uninstall the Amazon mini Sidebar. To install the Amazon mini Sidebar XPI extension file, click the following "Install XPI Extension File" link and follow the installation instructions in the Extension Manager window that opens. Once installed, the Amazon mini will be available as a standard sidebar option and it will also be added to the right-click menu for quick access. If you want to uninstall the Amazon mini extension, just highlight it in the Extension Manager window and click the Uninstall button.

• Internet Explorer (IE) - you have the following three options for adding Amazon mini to the IE sidebar panel:

a) Temporary Installation - simply click any "Click to Add Browser Sidebar" button to temporarily add the Amazon mini to your sidebar. With this installation method, the Amazon mini temporarily uses a sidebar Search window, and the Amazon mini is only displayed on the browser windows that it is specifically installed on. The Amazon mini is automatically removed (changes back to a normal Search sidebar window) as soon as the browser window is closed or a any new browser window is opened. Using this approach, you need to return to this site and click any "Click to Add Browser Sidebar" button every time you want the Amazon mini added to your IE sidebar.

b) Add to Favorites List - this approach is an extension of the above Temporary Installation method. Using the above temporary approach, it is not possible to load the Amazon mini in the sidebar any time you want (you have to return to this site and click a "Click to Add Browser Sidebar" button every time you want to load the Amazon mini into an IE sidebar). Using this approach, an Amazon mini link can be added to your Favorites link that will allow you to reload the temporary Amazon mini sidebar any time you want. To add the Amazon mini Sidebar link to your Favorites list, click the following button. When you click the button, you will receive a message that you are adding a favorites link that may be unsafe and asking if you want to continue. All that is being installed is some javascript that opens the Amazon mini in the search sidebar window (you can copy the link and paste it into the browser Address box to see the complete javascript link that is being installed). Click OK to install the Amazon mini link. Once installed, clicking the Amazon mini link in your Favorites list temporarily adds (same as described for Temorary Installation above) the Amazon mini to your sidebar. To remove this installation, right click the Amazon mini link in your Favorites list and select Delete from the menu.

c) Add to Explorer Sidebar Panel - this approach adds Amazon mini directly to your IE sidebar. Once installed, the Amazon mini sidebar will always be instantly available as a normal Explorer Bar item (controlled and displayed using the IE "View/Explorer Bar" menu). To install Amazon mini in your Explorer Bar, it needs to be registered with your system. To do this you need run the following Amazon mini reg file on your computer. Click the following "Install Amazon mini Explorer Bar" link and select Open to install the reg file or SaveAs to save it to your local computer. If you save the reg file to your computer, right-click the file and select Merge to install the file. When the file is installed, a message will be displayed asking if you want to add the information to your registry. Click OK to complete the installation. Once installed, Amazon mini will be available as a normal IE Explorer Bar option (select "View/Explorer Bar/Amazon mini" in the IE menu to display Amazon mini in the sidebar). To remove Amazon mini from the Explorer Bar, click the following "Uninstall Amazon mini Explorer Bar" link and select Open to uninstall the Amazon mini or SaveAs to save it to your local computer. If you save the uninstall reg file to your computer, right-click the file and select Merge to uninstall Amazon mini from the Explorer Bar.
